Nestled in the countryside around Radovljica, Vila Podvin is both a restaurant and a hotel. The beautiful garden is one of its attractions, along with its fresh, strongly flavoured cuisine which showcases local, seasonal ingredients from the Upper Carniola, a region influenced by Italian, Slavic and Germanic traditions – good examples are the open ravioli with Kosec cheese and sweet chestnuts, and the turbot with mussels and apples. The dining room is classic in style, plus there’s a niche with a few tables which is perfect for a romantic dinner. A good selection of Slovenian and international wines, including some excellent vintages, completes the picture.
